i10 Is Now Hyundai India’s Flagship Model
Hyundai’s best selling car Santro has been overtaken in sales by elder sibling i10 to become the flagship model – the Korean giant in India. Average sales of the i10 have touched 12,000 units a month, against 7,000 – the Santro, prompting Hyundai to deliberate it as their flagship model. The companionship is said to be pushing the i10 in urban markets and Santro to the semi-urban and rural markets.

Honda India Recalls 8532 Units Of 2007 City
Honda India has announced recall of 8,532 units of 2nd Generation City, manufactured in 2007, – part replacement of Power Window Switch. The replacement would be carried out free of cost and the companionship will communicate directly with the City ZX owners, covered under this part replacement. The companionship will replace the part in these vehicles related to the problem of smoke coming out from the Power Window Switch if water enters the driver window.

Honda India Recalls 8532 Units Of 2007 City
Honda India has announced recall of 8,532 units of 2nd Generation City, manufactured in 2007, – part replacement of Power Window Switch. The replacement would be carried out free of cost and the companionship will communicate directly with the City ZX owners, covered under this part replacement. Honda Recalls Jazz & City Over Window Fault
Honda has recalled 6,46,000 Fit/Jazz and City cars globally over a faulty window switch after a child died when fire broke out in a car last year. The recall includes 140,000 vehicles in the United States and covers the models sold in North America, South America, Europe, South Africa and Asia, but not Japan. Honda said the recall was to fix a defective master switch, which could produce water to enter the power window switch resulting to fleeting circuit and thus fire.
There were three reported cases of fires due to the defect, two in the United States and one in South Africa. At the recall a waterproof skirt will be fitted to the window to avoid any hurt. There won’t be any impression on the recall in India because the Jazz that is being sold in India is a second generation vehicle, which is not a part of the global recall.

Hyundai i20 In Top Five Safest Cars Of 2009
For the initially time, Euro NCAP has released its top five safest cars of 2009, based on their maximum five star award and their overall score. Top of this list is the Volkswagen Golf VI that was initially tested in 2008 under the -mer rating scheme and was re-released in 2009. The Honda Insight Hybrid and Toyota Prius, two fuel-efficient vehicles tested in 2009, were second and third respectively in Euro NCAP’s list of safest, crash-tested cars. In fourth place is the Hyundai i20 (check EuroNCAP ratings here). There are three establishment winners – fifth place – the Toyota Avensis, Volvo XC60 and the Opel/Vauxhall Astra. Euro NCAP’s poorest results of the year were achieved by the Suzuki Alto and the Toyota Urban Cruiser, which both received three stars.
In 2009, Euro NCAP crash tested thirty three car models, using up to a total of three cars, three front seats, four child seats and an array of spare parts per model. To realize the overall rating, the car model is usually place through four crash tests, a component test and is assessed by an inspector who considers tests results and the safety equipment and features of the car. In 2009, upon the request of the manufacturer Euro NCAP also considered results from vehicles crash-tested in 2007/2008 and carried out the necessary tests and assessment to upgrade them to a result applicable under the new rating scheme.
